About UsBMGCA is the Briarbrook Morgan's Grant Community Association. We are committed volunteers who represent the residents of Briarbrook, Brookside and Morgan's Grant to the City of Ottawa. We also organize events throughout the year, including: ·

Annual multicultural summer festival Briarbrook, Brookside and Morgan's Grant are located off March Road in Kanata, Ontario, Canada. Christmas Lights CompetitionKathleen
and Paul Arbour of Goward Avenue won the Christmas lights competition on
December 20. Their flashy display was
synchronized with Christmas music!
Shoppers Drug Mart donated a gift basket worth $200 to the
winners. BMGCA thanks Ghada Gabr of
Shoppers Drug Mart for their kind donation.
Judges were Matt Muirhead, Katie McCullough, Marianne Wilkinson, and
Jennifer Burden of the Kanata Kourier-Standard. January General MeetingThe
next general meeting will be held at 7:30 PM on January 20 at the Old Town
Hall. The topic of discussion will be
transit and traffic. Pat Scrimgeour,
Manager at Transit Service Design for OC Transpo will be on hand. In addition, Marianne Wilkinson is
organizing a consultation on townhome development on Helmsdale Avenue. Finally, representatives from the YMCA will
discuss programming at the Kanata North Recreational Centre. Please attend if you have any questions
about BMGCA or the development occurring in Kanata North. Winter Family Fun DayResidents
in the Briarbrook, Brookside and Morgan's Grant areas are invited to an
afternoon of fun and games on January 31.
From 1:00 to 3:00 PM, BMGCA will host the annual Winter Family Fun Day
at Klondike Woods Park (Halton Terrace and Klondike Road). Children of all ages will have fun with
races, the famous doughnut rope, and skills competitions on the ice
rink. Join us for a cup of hot cocoa
or hot apple cider, available for a small fee. And remember - this is a great time to sign
up for, or renew your annual BMGCA membership! Election ResultsBMGCA
elected a new executive on November 18.
Matt Muirhead was re-acclaimed President. The association is pleased to welcome
Darren Webster as Membership Coordinator, and Katie McCullough as Co-Social
Director. Calendar of Events (2009-2010)The Events page now lists the meetings and
activities for 2009-2010. Membership DriveFamily
memberships are $10 per year, and $15 for two years. Members receive free
entry to our Summer Festival and Winter Family Fun Day. Membership dues also
support our anti-graffiti strategy and our ice-rink maintenance. Members also
receive regular updates and newsletters to keep them informed about goings-on
in our community and the city-at-large. For more information or to volunteer
